Seattle won a tough game after rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon’s 97-yard pick-six in the third quarter. His aggressive style would have fit perfectly with the LOB.

The Seahawks are 3-1 despite a long series of injuries, and Geno Smith’s knee injury appeared to alleviate another. Although clubs loathe Week 5 byes, the Seahawks won’t complain.

Buy a breakout: Witherspoon looked good before his pick-six. Jones sacked him twice on a reversal pass after a blitz. The Giants needed his touchdown to trim Seattle’s advantage to three. The Seahawks were criticized for picking Witherspoon fifth overall over Jalen Carter. In addition to Carter’s off-field antics, Witherspoon played better. Even though she started slowly, Witherspoon’s potential is blossoming.

Seattle’s pass rush improved with 11 sacks. It was inconsistent in the first three before overwhelming the Giants. They have 11 sacks entering Monday night’s game, double their team record of five. Witherspoon, Brooks, Wagner, and Nwosu have two sacks. According to ESPN Stats & Information, this is the first four-sack game since 1987. Seattle has had an NFL-leading 46 pressures in the past two games, according to ESPN Stats & Info. ESPN recorded 20+ pressures in both games for the first time since 2009.

Smith had not missed a snap in his first 21 games as the Seahawks starting quarterback before a second-quarter sideline tackle hurt his knee. After halftime, he went 13 of 20 for 110 yards and a touchdown. Walker III’s touchdown came on Noah Fant’s 51-yard catch-and-run after relief pitcher Drew Lock completed 2 of 6 passes for 63 yards.

Unsettling trend: Adams’ long-awaited return lasted nine plays. After kneeing the helmet on the first play, he was ruled out with a concussion. Adams worries constantly. Since Seattle acquired him in the historic 2020 Jets trade, he had missed 28 of 53 regular-season games as of Monday night. Damien Lewis (ankle) and Phil Haynes (calf) missed Monday’s game. Another nose tackler, Jarran Reed (shin), left. Brady Henderson.

The Giants offense is sloppy. Jones is again easily distracted. The Giants’ season ended quickly after four bad games. Jones fumbled and threw two interceptions; one returned 97 yards for a touchdown. Minimal impact. A weak offensive line allowed 11 sacks. The Giants’ special teams committed six penalties. Very bad. The Giants must prepare for Miami and Buffalo road games late in the season. It may decline first.

Jones completed 27 of 34 passes for 203 yards and two interceptions. Everyone noticed a new quarterback at Brian Daboll’s debut last year. Jones fights stress. Both make sense. Jones turned over three. Has six in four games. Is the Giants’ $160 million Jones contract wrong? His third terrible game in four, NY must improve or this season will spiral out of control.

The Giants were outscored 77-9 in the first half. The opening half was hard for both. The Giants haven’t scored a first-half touchdown in four games. Just 44, 55, and 57-yard field goals have been made. After four games, their minus-68 first-half point deficit is the fourth worst in Super Bowl history. The Giants contemplated starting the week early. It failed again.

incredible Seahawks AFL tight end Fant should gain 19.8 yards after catching. As expected, Fant’s 51-yard second-quarter reception was 15.34 yards from the nearest defender. Bobby Okereke and Adoree’ Jackson’s missed sideline tackles helped Fant. After the reception, Fanning sprinted 46 yards but was stopped at 1. Seattle RB Kenneth Walker III scored next.
