The two-time champions India and the five-time champions Australia would face off in the 2023 one-day international (ODI) World Cup final. The contest will start at 1:30 p.m. local time and take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The most World Cup victories belong to Australia. Australia has won five of the previous 12 World Cups, along with two by India, two by the West Indies, and one each by Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England. Australia has won the World Cup a total of nine times.

On November 15 and 16, respectively, the World Cup 2023 semi-finals were played. On November 15, India faced off against New Zealand, while on November 16, Australia faced off against South Africa. India won their match against New Zealand by a score of 70 runs, while Australia won their match against South Africa by three wickets.

In order to compete in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan in 2025, a team must finish in the top eight in the World Cup in 2023.
