“The Brazilian government condemns the series of bombings and ground attacks carried out today in Israel, starting from the Gaza Strip,” the Foreign Ministry said, urging parties to “avoid escalating the situation”.
Belgium
Belgium firmly condemns the horrific rocket attacks against Israeli citizens. Violence and terror prolong misery and impede communication. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. The situation is being actively monitored, Foreign Affairs Minister Hadja Lahbib remarked on Twitter X.
The Czech Republic
President Petr Pavel called the Gaza Strip attack a heinous act of terrorism against Israel and its civilian population. “The rocket attacks and Hamas commando infiltration into Israel will block any peaceful Palestinian-Israeli solution for a long time.”
The EU Commission
I strongly condemn the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on X that Israel can protect itself from such horrible crimes.
Foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said, “We strongly condemn Hamas attacks. This awful brutality must end now. Violence and terrorism solve nothing.”
Egypt
Egyptian foreign ministry officials warned of “grave consequences” from escalating tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, according to the state news agency.
It advised “exercising maximum restraint and avoiding exposing civilians to further danger”.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri called EU foreign policy leader Josep Borrell to discuss events, urging all parties to moderate to avoid significant risks.
France
Macron condemned “terrorist attacks” against Israel.
I absolutely deplore the violence in Israel. Macron wrote on X, “I stand with the victims, their families, and loved ones.”
On Saturday, the French embassy in Israel called the attacks “inadmissible terrorist attacks”.
“Afraid of southern developments. Terrorism is unacceptable and must be condemned. “We stand with Israel and Israelis,” the French embassy stated on X.
Germany
We received terrifying news from Israel today. The Gaza rocket fire and rising violence startle us. Chancellor Olaf Scholz tweeted, “Germany condemns Hamas attacks and supports Israel.”
Berlin “firmly condemns the terrorist attacks from Gaza against Israel,” declared Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
Baerbock said Hamas “contributes to the intensification of violence” and “violence and rockets aimed at innocent people must stop immediately”.
Greece
Greece firmly condemns Gaza’s severe rocket assault on Israel today. They stand with Israel and is very disturbed by this unacceptable violence escalation,” the Foreign Ministry posted on X.
Hezbollah
Hezbollah said it was constantly monitoring Gaza and in “direct contact with the leadership of the Palestinian resistance”.
After Gaza fighters fired rockets into Israel, the statement said it was a “decisive response to Israel’s continued occupation and a message to those seeking normalisation with Israel”.
Iran Reaction on Hamas attack
According to ISNA, a Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei aide said Iran supported the Palestinian attack.
“We congratulate the Palestinian fighters,” adviser Rahim Safavi said. “We will support Palestinian fighters until Palestine and Jerusalem are liberated.”
Iran’s foreign ministry said Hamas assaults showed Palestinians’ growing confidence in Israel’s occupation.
“In this operation, surprise and other combined methods were used, showing the Palestinian people’s confidence in the occupiers,” ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated.
“I proved that the Zionist regime is more vulnerable than ever and that the initiative is in the hands of Palestinian youth,” government spokesperson Ali Bahadori-Jahromi told IRNA.
Italy
Italy supported “Israel’s right to defend itself” against Hamas’ “brutal attack”.
The administration “condemned in the strongest terms the terror and violence under way against innocent civilians”.
Israel
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Israel is at “war” and “will win”.
“Our enemy will pay a price the type of which it has never known,” Netanyahu declared in a video.
Japan
The F.M of Japan condemned Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups’ missile launches and cross-border attacks into Israel. Japan advises all parties to refrain to avoid further harm.”
Kuwait
Kuwait expressed “grave concern” about Israel-Palestine developments, accusing Israel of “blatant attacks”.
The foreign ministry urged the international community to “stop the provocative practices of the occupation” and the “policy of expanding settlements”.
NATO
A NATO spokeswoman condemned “terrorist attacks by Hamas against NATO partner Israel”.
All victims and impacted parties are in our thoughts. Terrorism threatens free societies, and Israel has the right to defend itself, said Dylan White.
According to UN Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland, the situation is precarious and everybody should avoid it.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Tuerk stated that this attack is causing severe harm to Israeli people. Civilians should never be attacked.”
The United Nations Security Council meets Sunday.
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has great concern for civilians and encourages prudence. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said civilians must always be respected and protected under international humanitarian law.
United States
The US denounced “the appalling Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel”.
“President [Joe Biden] will continue to receive updates, and White House officials remain in close contact with Israeli partners,” the White House said.
America strongly condemns Hamas’ unjustified attacks on Israeli citizens. No excuse exists for terrorism. We support the Israeli government and people and mourn the Israeli victims of these attacks.”
United State 0f America military director Lloyd Austin stated, “Over the coming days, the Department of Defence will work to ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself and protect civilians from indiscriminate violence and terrorism.”
Biden warned “against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation” after speaking to Netanyahu.
