Numerous authorities and organisations encourage tourists to rediscover and take advantage of the adventure, luxury, history, cultures, and locations on this day.

The UNWTO claims that the subject for Tourism Day 2023, “Tourism and Green Investment,” highlights the necessity of ever-increasing, properly targeted investments in order to realize the sustainable development objectives, the UN’s blueprint for a better world by 2030.

According to information on the UNWTO website, “COVID-19’s overall disruption in the travel and tourism sector presents an opportunity to redefine and re-calibrate the direction and narratives of tourism investments for a more sustainable future for the people, the planet, and prosperity.”

More than 500 government representatives and business executives will meet in Riyadh on September 27 and 28, as Saudi Arabia once again acts as the UNWTO Executive Council’s host nation.

Among the many benefits of tourism, fostering intercultural understanding and environmental preservation are just two. It improves living conditions all across the world. Additionally, it promotes digitization and innovation.

By 2030, the hotel industry will require millions of graduates annually, and another 800,000 jobs will require specialized training. According to the UNWTO website, these factors necessitate “investing in people, as they are the cornerstone of tourism, so that all people who choose to work in the business have the same opportunity to get top-notch tourism training, anywhere in the world.

The Tourism Day in 2023 will provide a significant platform for the world to recognize the sector’s accomplishments after COVID-19.
