The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that Yasir Arafat, a former all-around player, has been named the High-Performance Coach for the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team.
When the Green Shirts head out on their New Zealand Tour, which includes a five-match T20I series in January, the 41-year-old Arafat will be in charge.
Former Test all-rounder Yasir Arafat is Pakistan’s high-performance coach. “He will be a member of the team management for the upcoming five Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand scheduled from January 12 to 21, 2024, in New Zealand,” a press release from the PCB said.
He became Pakistan’s first Test cricketer to finish an ECB Level 4 coaching program at Loughborough University. His bowling coaching credits include Sussex, Surrey, and the Perth Scorchers of the Australian Big Bash League. The Hong Kong national team bowling coach was his last job.

The former Pakistani athlete played in 27 international matches, 13 of which were T20 contests. He participated in the Green Shirts’ 2009 T20 World Cup success as a player as well. He did, however, only take part in one match during the main competition.
