A Chinese company celebrated the delivery of 160 luxurious all-electric buses to Pakistan on Saturday at the Suzhou Industrial Park in Jiangsu province.

China Economic Net (CEN) reports that Pakistan has never before deployed pure electric buses in large quantities; the order is valued at more than RMB 150 million (in Chinese currency).

Pakistani representatives in attendance included Qiu Yuanhong, General Manager Suzhou Higer, Deputy General Manager Xie Jianghong, Director of Customer Service Jiang Haifeng, and General Manager of Overseas Sales.

The officials underlined in their speeches how much they appreciated this batch of buses. The Pakistani side tested the buses the day before the event, and every mechanical and electrical component worked as intended.

Higer’s new energy buses currently hold the most market share in Pakistan, supporting the country’s ecologically sensitive and low-carbon transportation sector.

Higer entered the Pakistani market in 2006 and since then has kept up with technological advancements to manufacture luxury buses specifically for that country. These buses are built to handle challenging driving conditions and the country’s crowded, sandy roads without emitting any noise pollution.

This batch of exported pure electric buses will significantly increase the effectiveness of public transport networks and the standard of living for the local populace thanks to their zero emissions, low running costs, and minimum noise pollution.

Thanks to the most advanced cathodic electrophoresis technology, the buses also have an internal corrosion resistance of more than ten years and a cruising endurance of more than 250 km.

The T-BOX intelligent operating system, which can track driver behaviour and vehicle operation data in real-time to guarantee operational safety and safeguard passenger travel, is installed in 160 pure electric buses.

Future transport reforms will prioritise environmental sustainability and efficiency, as they are critical to the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The aspirations for better public transport under the CPEC and BRI have a new lease of life with the arrival of 160 e-buses in Pakistan.
