An auctioneer on Charles Hanson has been charged with assault after a “domestic incident.”

The 45-year-old Charles Hanson is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charge next month. Hanson frequently makes an appearance on the BBC One program, offering teams advice on how to monetize antiques.

According to Derbyshire Police, he was charged with seven counts on December 14. These included two counts of assault causing serious bodily harm, two counts of assault by beating, and one charge of controlling and coercive behavior.

Derbyshire Police released a statement to The Telegraph in which they said they had been “called to reports of a domestic incident at an address in Church Road, Quarndon, in June.”

According to the force, a guy in his 40s was allegedly arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on police bond while investigations were ongoing.

Charles Hanson was charged with seven offenses on December 14.

“The 45-year-old was released on police bail to appear at Southern Derbyshire magistrates’ court on January 10,” stated the statement.

The latest bargain hunt specialist

At the age of 25, Hanson made his Bargain Hunt debut in 2002, making him the team’s youngest specialist. Since then, he has regularly appeared on Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip.

In 1999, Hanson started working in the glass and ceramics section of Christie’s. He started an auction business in Derbyshire in 2005, then established Hansons London in 2018.

2008 saw Hanson marry 40-year-old diagnostic radiographer Rebecca Ludlam in All Saints Church in Mackworth, in front of 150 close friends and family members.

According to The Sun, Hanson, a chartered surveyor, abandoned a six-bedroom house in a small Derbyshire village.
