As the main event of UFC 296 tonight, Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight title against Colby Covington. These two will compete against each other.
After a thrilling knockout bout, Edwards emerged victorious over Kamaru Usman in 2022 and successfully claimed the title. Additionally, he was able to successfully defend it in a combat that took place in London in March against his opponent from earlier. The controversial Covington is the opponent of the British man of Jamaican heritage, who is defending his title for the second time.
After suffering two defeats at the hands of Usman (by technical knockout in 2019 and by points in 2021), the American fighter, who is now 35 years old, was already in possession of the interim championship.

However, he was never able to unseat Usman. The fact that Covington’s most recent victory over Jorge Masvidal was a unanimous decision, on the other hand, shows that he has never failed to recover.
In spite of this, he triumphed over his former friend, who turned adversary twenty-one months ago, and Edwards will make an effort to capitalize on whatever ring rust that Covington may still harbor.
